Using a DPV makes it possible to cover large areas, explore kelp forests, reefs, and underwater structures while conserving energy and air. This course teaches you how to safely operate and control a DPV while maintaining proper buoyancy and dive awareness.

Course Schedule

Typical course duration: 10–15 hours

Training includes:

• 1 pool / confined water training session

• 2 open water training dives

Students will first practice DPV handling and control in confined water before completing ocean training dives under instructor supervision.

Training Standards

Minimum Age: 12 years old

Maximum Training Depth:

30 meters / 100 feet

Prerequisites:

• Open Water Diver certification or equivalent
