TDI Advanced Trimix Diver Course
TDI Advanced Trimix Diver – The Highest Level of Open Circuit Technical Diving
The TDI Advanced Trimix Diver Course represents the highest level of open-circuit technical diving training. This course prepares experienced technical divers to safely plan and conduct deep dives using hypoxic trimix breathing gases.
Trimix is a mixture of helium, oxygen, and nitrogen. By adding helium to the breathing gas, divers can significantly reduce nitrogen narcosis and safely conduct deep technical dives. Advanced Trimix training teaches divers how to manage complex dive profiles, multiple gases, and extended decompression procedures.
The course focuses heavily on dive planning, gas management, team communication, and advanced problem-solving techniques required for deep technical diving. Divers will learn how to safely conduct dives that require multiple decompression stops while using several gas mixtures.
The TDI Advanced Trimix course allows divers to conduct dives to depths up to approximately 100 m / 330 ft using hypoxic trimix gases and staged decompression procedures.
This program is considered one of the most challenging and rewarding courses in technical diving, preparing divers for extreme depth exploration and advanced underwater environments.

Training Standards
Minimum Age
18 years old
Maximum Training Depth
100 meters / 330 feet
Prerequisites
• TDI Trimix Diver or equivalent
• Minimum 100 logged dives
• At least 25 dives deeper than 30 m / 100 ft
These requirements ensure divers have sufficient experience before beginning extreme depth technical training.
What You Will Learn
During this course you will learn:
• Advanced trimix gas planning
• Hypoxic trimix gas management
• Equivalent narcotic depth (END) calculations
• Multi-gas decompression procedures
• Technical equipment configuration
• Advanced buoyancy and trim control
• Emergency procedures during deep technical dives
These skills allow divers to safely conduct very deep technical dives using helium-based breathing gases.
Certification
After successfully completing the course, students will receive the TDI Advanced Trimix Diver certification.
This certification qualifies divers to safely conduct deep technical dives using trimix gases and represents the highest level of open-circuit technical diving training within the TDI system.
