TDI Trimix Diver Course
TDI Trimix Diver – Deep Technical Diving with Helium
Expand your technical diving capabilities with the TDI Trimix Diver Course. This advanced technical diving program teaches divers how to safely plan and conduct deep dives using trimix breathing gases.
Trimix is a breathing gas mixture that contains helium, oxygen, and nitrogen. The addition of helium reduces nitrogen narcosis and helps divers maintain clarity and control at greater depths.
During the course, divers learn how to safely plan and execute staged decompression dives using custom trimix blends. Training focuses on gas planning, decompression procedures, equipment configuration, and advanced problem-solving skills required for deep technical dives.
The TDI Trimix Diver course allows divers to safely conduct dives to a maximum depth of 60 meters / 200 feet using helium-based breathing gases and staged decompression procedures.
This program represents a major step in technical diving training and prepares divers for deeper exploration dives and more advanced courses such as TDI Advanced Trimix Diver.

Training includes:
• Classroom / theory sessions
• Dive planning and gas calculations
• Equipment configuration drills
• Minimum 4 open water trimix training dives
Students will practice deep dive planning, gas switching, decompression procedures, and emergency scenarios.
Training Standards
Minimum Age
18 years old
Maximum Training Depth
60 meters / 200 feet
Prerequisites
• TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver (or equivalent)
• TDI Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalent)
• Minimum 100 logged dives
These prerequisites ensure divers have sufficient technical diving experience before using trimix breathing gases.
What You Will Learn
During this course you will learn:
• Trimix gas theory and helium benefits
• Gas planning for deep technical dives
• Equivalent narcotic depth (END) calculations
• Decompression strategies and procedures
• Technical equipment configuration
• Advanced buoyancy and trim control
• Emergency procedures during deep dives
These skills allow divers to safely extend their depth range and conduct complex decompression dives.
Certification
After successfully completing the course, students will receive the TDI Trimix Diver certification.
This certification allows divers to safely conduct staged decompression dives using trimix breathing gases to depths up to 60 m / 200 ft.
Graduates may continue their technical training with courses such as:
• TDI Advanced Trimix Diver
• Advanced cave or wreck exploration programs
